First impressions: the outer packaging is awful. In this day and age when we're all about trying to do things for the environment I don't understand why some cosmetics brands are still using plastic for the outer packaging. I don't mean the container, I mean the box it comes in. You end up throwing it out, so why can't it just be made of cardboard? The jars are actually glass which is much more environment friendly.

Otherwise I'm pretty impressed with these creams. I got the Refreshing Brighten Up Day Cream and Repair & Nourish Night Cream. They both contain green tea essence as one of their active ingredients that claims to "protect skin sells against harmfull free radicals and reduce photo-aging from UV rays". The day cream also contains SPF15 which is good, although I would argue with Ginvera's opinion that it "ensures maximum protection against UV rays". SPF15 is good, but by no means provides maximum protection. The creams also both contain biogel that "enhances absorbtion of skincare nutrients into skin cells", although I have no idea what biogel actually is.
The day cream is surprisingly the more creamy of the two, but by no means greasy, it sinks into the skin very quickly and leaves it moisturised and smooth. Does it brighten and illuminate my skin? I honestly can't say so. I always find skincare product reviews a bit hard to do, because there are always so many claims they have to live up to and they're not very easy to prove. It's a good moisturiser (quickly pointing out that I have normal to slightly oily skin, so I don't know what this is like on dry skin) and for me it's just that. It doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend it though.
Refreshing Brighten Up Day Cream |
The night cream feels very light and definitely non greasy, it sinks in very quickly and easily. It is moisturising enough for me, but I'm not sure it would be for someone with very dry skin, it just doesn't feel that moisturising. I like it though and it works for me, but again I can't really vouch for all the other skincare elements. Both creams are lightly scented which is don't find at all offensive and the scent disappear very quickly anyway.

Both creams cost £23 each and for that you get a generous 50 ml. There is an offer currently on Janiro's website and you can actually get the creams for half price, or both with 55% off. Be sure to click here to take advantage of this offer!
