NOTD: Enchanted Polish Once Upon A Time

Time for another NOTD post. This time it's Enchanted Polish Once Upon A Time. Enchanted Polish is quickly becoming one of my favourite nail polish brands, their polishes are really gorgeous and quite different to everything I own. Although having said that, Once Upon A Time did actually remind me of China Glaze Liquid Crystal, only better.

Taken without flash in direct sunlight

The glitter particles in this polish are smaller than in Liquid Crystal, making the whole effect smoother, and this also has subtle holo, something I love in Enchanted Polish nail polishes. This was the polish I wore in my Nail Polish Stash And Storage Video if you want to see it "in action".

I used 2 coats for the coverage you see in the pictures, which is pretty opaque. I had a tiny chip after about 24 hours and managed to chip another nail quite badly the next day, but after patching it up I wore it for the total of 4 days. So all in all, a good little nail polish. I bought mine from Llarowe, it cost $15 for 15 ml, although sadly it's not available anymore. The only downside of this brand is its very limited availability. She only makes them in very small batches and once they're gone, they're gone. If you like this though, check out China Glaze Liquid Crystal for a similar effect.

Tutorial Videos From Urban Decay Book Of Shadows IV For The Technically Challenged

When I bought Urban Decay's Book Of Shadows IV with all the gadgets and QR codes, I was a bit annoyed that I couldn't use any of them. You see at the time I didn't own a smart phone, so all of that technology was lost on me. Annoyingly I also couldn't watch the tutorial videos it came with (quite a big change from the booklet with the second Book Of Shadows), but finally even I own a smart phone, so I thought I'd share the links to these tutorials with you in case there are still people out there who otherwise couldn't watch them.

The palette came with a card with 5 QR codes that you can scan in with your phone and it takes you to the Urban Decay website where you can watch the tutorials. Of course you can do that on your computer too, so here are the links for the 5 looks. Enjoy!

Too Faced Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blush in Sweet Pink

This is the blush I couldn't show you properly in my London haul video because the good people of Boots decided to sellotape it shut, but I have now managed to get into it, so here's the review I promised. I believe this is an all new type of blush from Too Faced, although I admit that I hadn't owned any TF blushes before, so don't quote me on it. There were both powder and cream blushes available at the TF stand in th Boots on Oxford Street, and if I remember correctly there were 3 shades each. I picked up Sweet Pink which is basically a light pink colour with subtle shimmer.

Firstly the packaging is very pretty, as you would expect from Too Faced, with roses and butterflies on the outer box. The box itself has a flip up lid that shows you how to use the blush (erm, like apply and blend, you know), and you can also see the black compact through a peephole. The compact itself is shiny black with Too Faced written across it in pink. Inside the lid you get a full sized mirror, and there's also the pretty pink blush. You only get 4 g of product, so it's rather tiny, similar size to Urban Decay's Afteglow blushes (smaller than Mac blushes that are 6 g). This blush costs £18.50 which is a lot of money for something this tiny, especially as Too Faced isn't exactly a luxury brand.

Anyway, the blush is lovely, it's nicely pigmented (but not too overly, so you can build it up), smooth and the shimmer in it is very subtle, so it doesn't turn you into a glitter bomb. It's nothing special and the shade is most probably dupeable, but it is a nice blush in any case. Do you own it? Would you buy it?

NOTD: Mavala 213 Pure Diamond - A Shimmering Rainbow On Your Fingertips

I missed out on GOSH holographic nail polish which now retails for about £20 on eBay, and was looking out for possible dupes when I realised that this little beauty was hiding in my drawer. I purchased it as part of a set that included 7 Mavala glitter nail polishes sometime around Christmas for something like £8 and promptly forgot about it. I decided to try it out and now I'm in love. It's a clear nail polish with multicolour very fine glitter in it, that look mostly silver in natural light, but once bright light hits my nails, it shimmers in every colour of the rainbow. I couldn't stop looking at my hands for the first day or so. Despite it being clear, it is nearly opaque in 3 coats and it feels very smooth as the glitter is very fine. Removing it was a bit more difficult than normal nail polish, but wasn't the worst of the glitter nail polishes I own.

All in all, an absolutely lovely glitter nail polish that looks like those holographic wrapping papers. Love it! Available from BeautyBay for £2.99 (5 ml).

I took lots of pictures, but it was very hard to capture its true beauty, so make sure you scroll right down to the bottom to see a short video I recorded that might give you a better idea on how it looks in real life.

Accessorize Merged Baked Blushers Review and Swatches

I showed you my latest Accessorize haul in this video and now it's time for me to review the 4 baked blushes I bought. There are 4 new shades replacing the previous 4 shades (I reviewed 3 of them here), otherwise they are pretty similar, the packaging is the same with the pretty butterflies and they still cost £5 for 8 grams. So far I have only worn 3 of them and they all seem pretty frosty, not glittery, but certainly frosty.* Edited to add that I have now tried Sensation too and it's definitely very light and frosty, so most suitable as a highlighter unless you are very very fair and cool.

The shades I bought are no. 5 Sensation, no. 6 Scandal, no. 7 Wowzer and no. 8 Quiver. Sensation is the lightest, it's a very light frosty pink colour. Scandal is my favourite of the bunch, it is a nice coraly pink colour (reminds me a lot of Mac Stereo Rose MSF on my cheeks), not really the same as it looks in the pan. Wowzer is bright pink, but not as bright as it looks in the pan. Quiver is a dirty rose colour. They are all quite pigmented, but you don't need to be too careful when applying them as they aren't too pigmented, they are very buildable. I think they are pretty nice blushes, but if you don't like your blushes frosty, then Scandal would be the best to try as it's the least frosty.

And the winner of my "guess how many lipglosses" giveaway is....

...perfumeorpoison with a very good guess of 502.
I actually have 493 lipglosses. (To those who asked yes, I did count them!) :)

To answer another question, I don't really pay attention to the 6 month expiration rule, I only throw away lipglosses (or make up in general) if they smell or taste bad, or their consistency changes. I did actually chuck out 10 lipglosses the other day, most of them were around 5-6 years old.

Congratulations perfumeorpoison, your prize will be posted to you as soon as possible! Thanks to everyone for taking part, hope you enjoyed it. If you haven't seen the video of my lipgloss collection yet, you can check it out here.

What's in my bathroom?

A quick video to show you what kind of beauty products there are in my bathroom. Enjoy!
