Looks Featuring Urban Decay's Vice Palette and Ocho Loco 24/7 Eye Pencil Set - Part 1

For the past week or so I've been playing with my new Urban Decay Vice Palette and Ocho Loco 24/7 Eye Pencil Set and this is one of the looks I did. I was quite happy with this, although I think it would've looked better with a shimmery highlighter, but since there isn't one included in the Vice Palette, I decided to just stick with what was available.

To create this look I used the following:

Eyes:
Too Faced Insurance Policy
Urban Decay Vice Palette Provocateur eyeshadow in inner corner
Urban Decay Vice Palette Rapture eyeshadow in outer corner
Urban Decay Vice Palette Vice eyeshadow in crease
Urban Decay Vice Palette Freebird eyeshadow above crease
Urban Decay Vice Palette Anonymus eyeshadow on browbone to highlight
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil Psychedelic Sister on lower lashline and waterline
Cargo Lash Activator mascara
Mac Show Off Brow Set

Face:
Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream
Guerlain Voilettes Invisible Skin Fusion Loose Powder in 03 Beige Naturel
Mac Conjure Up mineralize blush
Mac Pleasureflush mineralize skinfinish

Lips:
Nars 413 BLKR Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

My Recent Laura Geller Haul

I bought these Laura Geller products from eBay a little while ago, but never got around to doing a post about them with all the excitement about Mac Semi-Precious collection. These are actually from more than one collection although to be honest with you I'm not entirely sure exactly which ones as I tend to pick up bits and pieces from eBay as and when I see them and I've not seen these products pop up on QVC UK yet. Anyway, the products I got are Baked Cheek Dreams Highlighter and Blush in Vanilla Peach Cobbler, Eye Elements Baked Eyeshadow and Highlighter in Amethyst Skies and Baked Marble Eyeshadow/Eye Rimz in Toasty Pink/Berry Flambe. Bit of a mouthful, eh?

I like Laura Geller products and I'm always looking out for them on eBay. As you know I have quite a collection of blushes (you can see my collection photos here), but I also have lots of baked eyeshadows (singles and duos alike) by Laura Geller. (Do you want to see a post on my Laura Geller baked eyeshadows stash by the way?) They are always high quality and pigmented, and the eyeshadows can be used dry or wet, even as an eyeliner.

So let's look at the products I got in detail. First up is the Baked Cheek Dreams Highlighter and Blush in Vanilla Peach Cobbler. This is very similar in style to the Neapolitan blush I've already reviewed and swatched here as it also has a highlighter, a blush and a contour shade. Neapolitan is a bit cooler than this, but really the only difference is in the blush shade as the highlighter and the contour are pretty similar in both (maybe a tad cooler in Neapolitan, but not much). I like it that the blush strip is slightly wider in this, because although the compact is a pretty good size (9 g), the middle strip in my Neapolitan is quite thin and it's not easy to just pick up the blush unless you use a very small brush. The powder is soft and finely milled, as all my other Laura Geller blushes.

My Mac Mineralize Skinfinish (MSF) Collection

As promised in my Semi-Precious Mineralize Skinfinish and Blush Swatch post here are some pictures of my entire Mac MSF collection. I believe I own every MSF ever released except for Comfort which really didn't appeal to me in the slightest, it was just too orange for me. Admittedly some of these are actually way too dark for me, but since they are all limited edition, I can't bare the thought of getting rid of them. Some are also too glittery, mainly the older ones like Naked You and Northern Light, but since I have almost every one of them, I might as well keep them now. I know, I'm crazy...

I didn't realise how many I actually had, but with my newest 4 it adds up to 36! Since there's so many, I'm not going to swatch them all this time, but if there are any requests, let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do.

I do want to highlight the ones that I love and use the most, which are - in no particular order - Light Flush, Lightscapade (which I believe will be re-released in the autumn!), Stereo Rose, Pleasureflush (naturally), Perfect Topping, Petticoat and the newest one, Rose Quartz. These are all lovely highlighters, and on the case of Petticoat, Stereo Rose and Rose Quartz, very nice blushes.

Mac Pleasureflush dupe alert! Laura Geller Blush n Brighten Boysenberry/Amaretti

My blog gets a number of hits from people searching for images and info on Mac Pleasureflush mineralize skinfinish, so I decided to do a post that is hopefully useful for those wanting to try it this wonderful highlighter. As Pleasureflush was a limited edition in 2004, it is now very hard to find and sells for an absolute fortune on eBay. (There is a used one - and by used I mean not just lightly used, but properly half used up - on eBay at £43 plus shipping right now, I'm very curious to see how much it will sell for eventually! * EDIT: It sold for a whopping £71!) I think I paid around $80 for mine, but they go for as much as $100 new. So I thought I'd show you a very very good dupe I have found for it (it's 98% similar I'd say).

It is Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Boysenberry Highlighter in Amaretti. I know, this is a blush and therefore not a dupe for Pleasureflush, but take a look at the highlighter section and you will find a beautiful light pink powder with golden veining. Remind you of anything? Let's take a closer look:

Belated Halloween look post

I did this look for Halloween, although I didn't actually dress up as anything or go anywhere, but I thought I'd do a fun dark look and at the same time finally use my Urban Decay Black palette. This is also my entry for Temptalia's Halloween make up challenge.

For this look I used the following products:

Face:

Guerlain Meteorites Perles primer
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation
Guerlain C’Est Moi pressed powder
Mac Love Rock mineralize blush duo
Mac Pleasureflush MSF

Eyes:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Urban Decay Jet eyeshadow (Black Palette) all over lid and crease
Urban Decay 54 Stardust eyeshadow inner corner and above crease
Urban Decay Grifter eyeshadow above crease
Urban Decay Bobby Dazzle Stardust eyeshadow below browbone
Mac Pink Opal Pigment inner third of eyelid and below browbone
Mac Designer Purple Pearlglide Intense eyeliner on lower lashline
Guerlain Le 2 Mascara in Butterfly Sparkle (both ends, glittery purple on tips of lashes)
Mac Brow Set in Show Off

Lips:

Mac Extra Amps dazzleglass
(Later added Collection 2000 Volume Sensation lipstick in Plum Perfection for darker lips to greet the trick or treaters, but I thought lighter lips were more appropriate for the supermarket in the morning.)

Purple and pink tropical look

I did this look the other day when I fancied something bright and colourful. Unfortunately my camera isn't very good and it didn't capture the brightness of the colours, but you get the idea anyway. :)
This is what I used to create this look:
Eyes:
Guerlain eyeshadow primer
Dior eyeshadow quint in #940 Tropical - turquoise (inner corner), light purple (middle of lid, above crease and lower lashline), dark purple (outer corner/crease), light pink (above crease)
Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Boysenberry/Amaretti (highlighter shade belowe brow bone)
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Covet
Boots No7 Extreme Length mascara (black)
Cheeks:
Mac Two Virtues mineralize blush
Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Boysenberry/Amaretti (highlighter shade on top of cheeks)
Lips:
Mac Bubblegum lipstick
I guess this look could easily be created with Mac eyeshadows (or any other brand that offers bright coloured eyeshadows), but I don't know the dupes for these shades.
Here are some pictures of the products I used:

Christian Dior eyeshadows in #940 Tropical

Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Boysenberry/Amaretti

Mac Two Virtues mineralize blush

Mac Bubblegum lipstick

PS. I know that some of you found my blog by searching for images of Mac Pleasureflush MSF, so you might be interested to know that the highlighter shade of the Laura Geller Blush n Brighten is an EXACT dupe of Pleasureflush (it has the same veining as well!) and is therefore a more affordable option should you not wish to fork out $70+ on a Pleasureflush. ;) It came in a set (I dream of Italy 2), but is available on eBay and is really quite cheap, I think I've seen some for $15 or so. The blush is the same size as an MSF, so the highlighter bit is probably about 3 gramms or so, and you get a really pretty (not at all shimmery) blush as well. I think I might do a review of these lovely blushes from Laura Geller as they are well worth checking out.

Pleasureflush - my new addition

Okay, so where shall I start? The reason why I named my blog Pleasureflush is that recently I've had the opportunity to purchase a brand new Pleasureflush MSF (by Mac) and I love it. :) I only got into Mac a year or so ago, I think the first product that caught my eye was the Petticoat MSF, and then there were the Electroflash mineralize eyeshadow duos, and the rest is history. :) I've already had several MSFs (I think I have 18 altogether), mostly thanks to eBay (I am a huge eBay addict) and always heard about how fantastic Pleasureflush was, so when I saw that someone was selling them on eBay, I snatched one up. It cost A LOT (I won't admit how much I spent on it, although nowhere near as much as some people claim it's worth), but it really is lovely. I got a brand new one, so it will last me forever and there is no way I'm using it up anyway! :)
I shall leave you with a couple of pictures of my lovely new Pleasureflush. It is my son's birthday tomorrow and I need to ice his birthday cake and wrap up his birthday presents, so I'm going to be busy for the rest of the evening.
If anyone's reading this, I would really appreciate if you could leave me a comment just so I know I'm not typing all this for the void. :)
