2011's Favorite Products: Part 2 - Face

To continue from yesterday's favourites post I have the face products I loved the most this year to show you. Like I said in yesterday's post, it's hard to compose these lists because current favourites can easily make it in there even if you were using something  else for 11 months. Despite me not wanting to include products that have only recently made it into my most used and well loved products, I have gone against it and included a couple of products that are very new to me but have become firm favourites. Read on to find out what they are.

First up is my favourite face primer, Guerlain Meteorites Perles Light-Diffusing Perfecting Primer. It smells amazing and gives a smooth base, it's not slimy and slippery like some silicone based one, love it. I have reviewed it, so click on the link above.

Keep reading to find out which other face products I loved this year!

Concealers. I don't actually own a lot of concealers because I've found my favourite one and I'm sticking with it. I've been using Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Light Diffusing Concealer for a few years now and it's been a favourite ever since I first got it. I don't need to use concealer very often and only need a medium coverage one, so this is perfect for me.

My favourite foundations this year have been: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, Diorskin Forever, Lancome Teint Miracle and although technically not a foundation, 17 Blemish Balm. This is actually a funny list of products as the last three products are all very new to me, and in fact I don't actually own Lancome Teint Miracle. Let me explain. A few months ago I got a generous sample from my local Lancome counter in shade 02 which was my perfect match and I loved it so much. I ended up using up the sample and decided to get a full sized bottle. However, at the same time I also got a small Diorskin Forever sample in shade 02, again my perfect shade, and having used that up too, I concluded that they were both very similar and equally gorgeous, so it was a toss between the two and Dior won. But I still love the Lancome one and might just end up buying it eventually. As for the 17 Blemish Balm, I know I haven't had it for long, but I really like it and have been using it a lot lately, it's great value and as well as a good colour match, it's mattifying and has a good coverage.

It was hard to choose a favourite pressed or loose powder, but then I remembered that back in March I finished my lovely Chantecaille White Tiger Face Powder Compact (on the left above) which was definitely a big favourite. I have a couple of back ups, but I was using some other powders and forgot about them. I also liked Mac Truth & Light Magically Cool Liquid Powder, but I wasn't keen on the fact that it dried out within just a few months of using.

Stereo Rose (left), Pleasureflush (right)

As for blushes and highlighters, it's once again hard to choose favourites as I have so many of them and I don't reach for the same ones all the time, but there are two products that have been massive favourites for a long time now. Mac Mineralize Skinfinishes Stereo Rose and Pleasureflush are definitely my favourite blush and highlighter. After all my blog is named after Pleasureflush and one of my first posts were about both of them. I do wish Pleasureflush was repromoted so others could experience the beautiful glow it gives. Stereo Rose was recently (2010) repromoted and it is such a gorgeous coral blush.

That's it for my favourite face products. Tomorrow I will be back with my favourite lip and nail products, so be sure to check back!

  1. Yeah, it's hard as I rotate most of my make up, but there are certain things I always reach for regardless. Or even if I don't always reach for them, my love for them never goes away. ♥ The 17 BB cream is really nice, realy worth trying out. ;)
