Accessorize Highlighter Review and Swatches

I have so many lovely Accessorize products to tell you about, so far nothing has diappointed me. Today I have the liquid highlighter to show you. I bought this a little while ago, and have since used it quite a few times and I really like it.

You get a very generous amount (50 ml) for just £7 in a cute tube decorated with butterflies, as always. The product isn't too runny, it's more of a cream, it's not sticky and it blends very easily. You only need a tiny bit to highlight cheekbones or you can mix it with your foundation for an all-over glow. By glow I really mean subtle glow with pinky-gold sheen, the highlighter isn't shimmery or glittery at all. You can blend it out really well, so it will be as noticeable as you want it to. I either wear it alone or blend it with my 17 foundation which is a bit dull, to brighten it up a bit. Gives a lovely dewey glow. Love it and would repurchase it if I ran out. Another Semi-Precious Look: With Rare Find Mineralize Eyeshadow

I wanted to show you another look I created with my new Mac Semi-Precious mineralize eyeshadows, this time it's Rare Find.I really liked this look, it's soft and feminine. Using a pink lipstick instead of purple would make it more work friendly as well. Let me know what you think.

Accessorize Bronzing Block Shade 3 Review and Swatches

I have been meaning to review this for ages, but only just got around to taking some comparison pictures. This product is well worth reviewing though because it is really good. It is described as a bronzing block, but in reality it's actually a blush, and a really lovely one as well. I don't know why it's called bronzing block, but then Bobbi Brown uses the name bronzing powder for some of her blushes.

The bronzing block/blush comes in a pretty flowery box, with Accessorize written on it. The box is slightly bigger than Benefit blushes, but similar style, although the new Bella Bamba now has a flip top, but the old ones have lids that come off. No mirror in the lid, but you do get a small brush. I don't use it, instead I use my normal blush brush. The blush itself is a gorgeous pinky coral colour, really pretty and great for summer. It has a little sheen, but it's not shimmery or glittery at all. Very pigmented, a little goes a long way. It's a decent size at 5.7g and it's really very affordable at £7 (although I think when I bought it, there was a £2 off deal at Superdrug).

I have compared it to some of my coral blushes including Nars Orgasm and Mac Stereo Rose, I think it's possibly closest to Sleek Rose Gold blush, but that one has a lot more sheen to it. You can see the comparison swatches at the end of this post.

Overall I would highly recommend this blush to everyone who likes coral cheeks and good quality blushes at affordable prices. Once again Accessorize did not disappoint.

My Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette and Eyeshadow Singles Stash

After reviewing Urban Decay's Rollergirl palette, I thought I'd show you my entire stash of Urban Decay eyeshadows: palettes and singles alike. I love Urban Decay's eyeshadows, they are one of my favourites, they are usually great quality, come in loads of gorgeous colours and while the singles are pretty pricey at £13 each (£14 for Deluxe eyeshadows and £15 for Stardust eyeshadows), the palettes are always very good value. Although once you have a massive collection like mine, it's not always worth picking up the palettes as there are a lot of duplicates (I didn't get any of the 3 new palettes: Fun, Feminine and Dangerous due to duplicates). Mind you though, the new 15 year anniversary palette is most definitely worth picking up as it includes 15 brands new eyeshadows! I will definitely review that for you once I have it.

Urban Decay Rollergirl Is Finally Mine!

Although it seems the UK isn't getting Urban Decay's Rollergirl sets, I've managed to get my hands on the eyeshadow/lipgloss set thanks to eBay. I would also love the mini nail polish set, but so far I haven't had any luck. Still hoping the sets will make it to the UK, but considering that these are for the summer and it's already mid-July, I doubt it. Still, at least I have the eyeshadow/lipgloss set which is what I wanted most anyway.

The set contains a 4-colour-eyeshadow palette, a miniLip Junkie lipgloss and a travel sized 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Whiskey. The colours in the palette are Woodstock, Verve, Suspect and Darkhorse. If you think you've heard them before, it's because some of them have been released in sets before and/or are permanent single eyeshadows. Woodstock came out as a Sephora exclusive single, but has also been included in the recent Fun Palette. Verve is exclusive to this palette, not available separately. Suspect was included in the I♥NYC Book Of Shadows (which is currently available on the Debenhams website by the way!), but it is not available to purchase as a single. Darkhorse has been included in two palettes: The Naked Palette and also The Feminine Palette. It isn't available to purchase as a single either.

I think this palette is a great, more travel friendly alternative to the Naked Palette, in that it contains 3 neutrals that can create a variety of looks including smoky eyes, but also you can jazz up your look with the bright pink Woodstock. You also get Whiskey eyeliner (also included with the Naked Palette, not available to purchase separately) which is a nice dark brown, less harsh than a black one, and a hot pink lipgloss. The eyeshadows are soft and buttery (Woodstock less than the other 3, but still nice), the eyeliner is smooth and has excellent staying power, and Crush Lip Junkie has a lovely cooling mint scent (for reference, I have not tried it on yet, only swatched it on my arm). The set retails for $32 in the US and is a great value for money considering that it contains 4 eyeshadows (1 g each which is 2/3 of the full sized singles that cost $17 each) which alone would add up to $45, plus a travel size 24/7 eyeliner pencil and mini Lip Junkie lipgloss. Of course it's not that great if you already own half the shades, but I thought that instead of buying Woodstock on its own for £13, I'd fork out £9 more and get Verve and the other two (which I already have), plus a back up for my Whiskey liner and try out the Lip Junkie lipgloss. Would be mad not to, right?

Another Glitter Crackle Polish NOTD: Nails Inc The City

You might remember my recent very bad review on Nails Inc The Westend crackle polish. This time I have a middling review, although The City is similarly very runny and not very pigmented, at least this one does crackle. Not that well, but it does crackle. In this look I used a pinky white nail polish under The City (Mac Frayed To Order), but I'm wondering if the cracks would've shown up better over a black base.

Ignore the index finger, the crackle polish went on very thin, so I tried doing a second coat, and well, this is what happened. You definitely need a good amount of nail polish on the brush because you need to do this in one go as much as possible. This is still not the easiest polish to work with, it is very runny and hard to achieve opaqueness with one brush stroke, but at least it does crackle and it is a really really beautiful shade of purple. Hopefully Nails Inc will tweak the formula a bit and then it will be even nicer. £11 for 10 ml.
