NOTD: Enchanted Polish Electric Feel

Today I have a gorgeous duochrome holo polish from Enchanted Polish to show you. I'm a big fan of Enchanted Polish, she makes the most gorgeous, complex polishes, but unfortunately they are extremely hard to come by. The restocks are few and far between and the polishes sell out in seconds. I count myself lucky to own as many Enchanted Polishes as I do. Nowadays it's easier to order them as she holds a pre-order every month or two for her monthly released mystery polishes (you don't know what it looks like until you receive it), but they are usually not duochrome which makes them less interesting to me.

Anyway, what I have here today is Electric Feel that was released as part of the Time To Pretend collection about a year ago. The collection is still available from time to time, Mei Mei Signatures and Pshiiit Boutique both had restocks fairly recently. Electric Feel is a duochrome holographic polish, it's light sage green with a golden sheen and it also has a dusky light blue duochrome to it and of course lots of holo. Very pretty.

Application was very easy, it took 2 coats for full coverage and dried quickly. I can't comment on how long it lasts as I only applied it last night. I usually get 2 days wear without chipping from Enchanted Polishes (and most polishes in general).

NOTD: Polish Me Silly Mind Blowing over China Glaze Want My Bawdy

I have another mani to show you (I told you I'm really into nail polish) and this time it's another fabulous indie polish called Mind Blowing by Polish Me Silly. I used China Glaze Want Me Bawdy, a dark blue and purple duochrome polish as the base and added Mind Blowing on top which is a multichrome topper with glitter. It goes from purple to blue as well, so a good match to Want Me Bawdy. It lightens the base colour and creates a galaxy like effect. Very pretty. It's really sparkly in direct sunlight, unfortunately the day I took the photos was a cloudy day. 

The formula of both polishes was great, Mind Blowing in particular and wore well for 2 days (which is my average and the frequency I change my nail polish usually).

Polish Me Silly polishes are available from their Etsy shop and from Rainbow Connection in the UK (although currently these multichrome toppers aren't in stock). If you buy from their Etsy shop, you can choose whether you want full size (15 ml) or mini size (9 ml) bottles and you can also purchase all 6 multichrome toppers available from the brand.

NOTD: Sephora Midnight Crawl

Firstly, I apologise about the lack of posts, or quality posts more like. I'm not too sure why, but I've been less interested in blogging and make up in general lately (although still really into nail polishes), so that's why I haven't been posting quite so often. I have a good few things to review, but I never seem to get around to it. I've also acquired a social life and have been going out 2 nights a week (or more!), so that probably doesn't help.

For now I only have a nail post, this one is Sephora's Midnight Crawl polish, a grey/purple/green duochrome similar to Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy, but more purple and a bit more duochrome.

The formula was good, the brush in particular is fantastic and so easy to use, and it took 3 coats for the colour you see in the pictures. Sadly it did start chipping within 24 hours, so that's not great, but neither is it unusual for me.

The bottle is tiny, you get just 5 ml, but then it only costs €4.90 (just under £4), so can't argue with that. I ordered mine from the French Sephora by the way.

NOTD: Eye Candy Colour Flip Nail Polish in Regally Yours

Another quick NOTD post. Normal service will resume next week. Today I have Eye Candy Colour Flip Nail Polish in Regally Yours to show you. In the bottle this looks duochrome, but on the nails it's pretty much just a slightly purpley blue. It's a pretty colour, but it doesn't flip anywhere.

I used 2 coats, the formula was lovely and it dried quickly. Really shame about the lack of duochrome as it's actually a pretty nice polish. It did chip rather quickly though, I had 2 small chips by the end of the first day and a lot more the second day.

I bought it from Sainsbury's, it cost £8 and you get 12 ml for your money. It's an okay polish, pretty colour, but don't expect the duochrome you see in the bottle.

ArtDeco Spring Collection Haul, Review and Swatches

This pretty magnetic palette is part of ArtDeco's spring collection and as I love butterflies, I of course had to snap it up. I also bought 4 of their duochrome eyeshadows to go with it and a pretty duochrome nail polish.

The palette takes either 4 eyeshadow singles or a blush and an eyeshadow, and I decided to get 4 of the new shades of eyeshadows. Of course you can buy it without refills and you also don't have to get the palette if you just want the eyeshadows, but I figured they would look lovely together.

I got 255 Aero Spring Green, 267 Fresh Water, 285 Lilac Passion and 297A Rosy Heart Throb. These are new shades for the spring, but I don't know if they are also limited edition or permanent. As I said, these are said to be duochrome eyeshadows, but with the exception of Rosy Heart Throb, I can't really see the duochrome in them. Rosy Heart Throb has a gold duochrome to it which is very pretty. The eyeshadows are very soft, a bit powdery and they are rather sheer as well. They give a very soft effect and look very springlike,but if you are looking for something more dramatic, more pigmented, then these are not for you. They did last well though and didn't crease at all, but due to their softness it was easy to overblend them, so you need to be careful when applying and blending.

Considering the price of the made up palette (£32.25) this is not as cheap as you'd think and for the amount of product you get (3.2 g) it's not the best value. I also found it a bit odd that the packaging of the palette shows an applicator, but you don't get one with it, which I probably wouldn't use, but for the price they really should've thrown in a measly applicator. 

I also bought Ceramic Nail Laquer 245 Iridescent Butterfly Wings which is a pretty blue with purple and teal duochrome. It seems very sheer, but I haven't tried it yet, so can't really comment.

The palette costs £10.25, the single eyeshadows are £5.50 (for 0.8 g) and the nail polish costs £9.50 (for 6 ml). I bought mine from BeautyBay, but Debenhams should be stocking the collection soon too.

NOTD: Hits Mari Moon Multigirl Chameleon Nail Polish

I thought this would be a quick nail polish post but I've just spent ages cropping and watermarking the photos because I took so much. This polish is absolutely beautiful and I really wanted to show you just how gorgeous it is. It's actually very frustrating because despite all the pictures, it was still a million times prettier in real life.

I wore 2 coats over black polish, the polish is otherwise very sheer to be worn on its own. It has a lovely formula and it lasted really well on me, 2 days with just very minimal chipping, and in the end I wore it for 4 days which is my maximum.

The picture above was taken on day 2 and you can see some tipwear, but I was desperate to take some pictures in sunlight because it just looks amazing in the sun. The colour shifts from purple to blue to green to a greyish purply taupe colour, amazing!

I bought it from Llarowe and it cost $7 for 6 ml. Or you can buy a set of 4 for $21.

NOTD: Nails Inc Garrick Street

Sadly, the pictures don't do this gorgeous polish justice, it was so much prettier in real life. Absolutely stunning duochrome from pink to purple to blue and a bit of teal at certain angles.

I used 3 coats to achieve opacity, but it was good on its own, rather than needing to be layered over black polish like many duochromes do. The formula was nice and easy to use. It did start chipping on me fairly quickly though, so that's not great, but it was pretty while it lasted.

I bought this as part of a set from TK Maxx, but Nails Inc polishes normally retail for £11. You get 10 ml for your money which makes them pretty expensive, but I do like the sets in TK Maxx very much as they're great value (usually better than half price).

NOTD: Models Own Tropical Sun

This is one of the second batch of Beetlejuice polishes Models Own released and I regret to say, I'm still not blown over by their duochrome formula. These polishes looked amazing in the promo pictures, but every one I've tried so far has been rather disappointing.

Tropical Sun is a coral pink polish with subtle orange duochrome and tiny silver sparkles. The duochrome was only more of a tint, it looked orange most of the times and only looked more pink in the shade. The formula was a bit disappointing as well, it was pretty sheer and it bubbled up on my nails quite noticeably. It lasted quite well on me though, only had some slight chips after 2 days which is the better end of average for me.

Models Own polishes cost £5 each and you get 14 ml for your money which isn't bad. Boots often has a 3 for 2 offer and the Models Own website has some offers to if you buy more than one polish.

Topshop Nail Polish Swatches

In my 2012 Favourites post I showed you some of my Topshop nail polishes, a brand I discovered and grown to love in the last year and I thought I might as well show you what they looked like swatched. Since I never have time to do proper nail swatches, I have finally acquired some nail wheels and put them to good use.

These are just some of my Topshop polishes, I actually own 35 of them, these are just my most recent purchases. I cannot go into Topshop and not buy their nail polishes, they always have so many lovely colours, glitters, duochromes, the lot.

The swatches below were done with two coats. I have already shown you Rising Star (click here to see details), so I decided not to scoop out any of the stars for the swatches because there aren't that many of them in the bottle. As you can see, some of the glitter polishes would work best on top of a darker colour, also Plume would probably look more amazing on top of a black polish to bring out its duochrome quality best. Some of them though are nicely opaque in just two coats.

NOTD: Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy

I'm not feeling well today, so all I have energy for is a quick NOTD post. Hoping to be able to do a more interesting one tomorrow.

Wet n Wild Gray's Anatomy looks amazing in the bottle, there's grey, purple, green and blue multichrome to it. Sadly on the nails it was less interesting, all I could see was mainly grey with a bit of purple and green tint at certain angles.

I did 3 coats and it had a nice formula, but it started chipping on me slightly after about 24 hours, so all in all, not the best polish. I think I bought mine for a couple of pounds on eBay, it's a very inexpensive polish. It's a decent size at 13.5 ml. I don't think you can buy Wet n Wild in the UK, so your best bet is probably eBay.

NOTD: Color Club Wild And Willling

Since I've been buying so many nail polishes, I'm trying to do a nail post a week, although I actually have quite a backlog of pictures since I change my nail polish 2-3 times week and most manis are actually worthy of sharing on here. Would you like me to do more nail posts in the future or not? I know I'm still not that skilled when it comes to painting my nails, although I have got much better. Let me know in the comments what you think!

Today I have this gorgeous Color Club nail polish to show you. It's called Wild And Willing and it was part of the Wild At Heart Collection from 3 years ago. It's a beautiful shimmer polish which is also duochrome, it's pink and orange, with some yellow and a bit of green thrown in for good measure. It looks great both in the sunlight and in shade.

The formula was very thin though, I think it took 4 coats, it was very sheer and runny. It dried pretty quickly though. It lasted okay on me with some very small chips on day 2, I ended up wearing it for 4 days. It's so pretty, I think I can forgive it for the thin, runny formula, but it would be just perfect if the formula was better.

I buy Color Club polishes on eBay from this seller or from TK Maxx (they sell Color Club box sets for around £8 which is a great deal!). I think I got this one on eBay for about $3 plus $4.50 postage to the UK. You get a very generous 15 ml for your money.

NOTD: Enchanted Polish Across The Universe - Duochrome With Holo, The Ultimate Gorgeousness?

I don't remember where I first came across Enchanted Polish, probably on one of those pesky nail blogs that make me want to buy every sparkly nail polish in the world.

I'm glad I did though as all the polishes I own from Enchanted Polish are gorgeous. Across The Universe is part of their Beatles collection and is extremely hard to get hold of. I'm currently after a couple of other polishes from their newer releases: I Am The Walrus and Magical Mystery Tour.

But let's talk about this one for now. Across The Universe has everything I love in nail polish: it is duochrome multichrome AND holographic! W00t! It's blue and purple, but also pink and orange at certain angles and has subtle linear holo. I couldn't stop staring at my fingers when I was wearing it, just so beautiful. My pictures don't do justice to it, the colours and the holo are more vibrant. (Also, sorry about my nails in the pictures, I had just broken my middle finger nail right down to the flesh, ouch!)

It's also amazingly opaque, only took 2 coats for the coverage you see in the pictures, didn't need to layer it over black polish or anything like that. It lasted well, for 2 days without much chipping, and I actually wore it to the swimming pool which usually makes my nail polish come off. So all in all I was very pleased with it.

My only problem with Enchanted Polish is that it's really hard to come by. They seem to be released in very small quantities and sell out within minutes. Seeing that I order from the US, I try to buy more than one at a time to save on postage, but it's almost impossible to find them all in stock at the same time. Sigh.

I bought Across The Universe from Llarowe, it cost $13 and shipping was pretty reasonable. It's a 3-free polish and you get 15 ml for your money.

NOTD: China Glaze Deviantly Daring

Deviantly Daring is one of the duochrome polishes from China Glaze released in the Bohemian Luster Chrome collection.It is a bluey green polish that looks blue at certain angles. Reminds me of Sephora Moody Woman polish but this is more blue than green. The duochrome is quite strong, certainly noticable.

Application was fine, can't remember whether it took 2 or 3 coats, but I probably did 3 for good measures. It did chip on me quite quickly, I don't find China Glaze polishes at all long lasting. It is very pretty though and I change my nail colour every 2-3 days, so it's not a massive deal.

I bought mine from eBay, but in the UK China Glaze polishes cost around £7 (although BeautyBay are selling this for £12.75?) and you get 14 ml for your money.

NOTD: Ozotic #730 Duochrome Nail Polish

I have been buying nail polish like there's no tomorrow and one of the sellers/shops I've been using is Llarowe who has a massive amount of indie brands on their website including Ozotic. It's a US based shop but the shipping isn't bad, so I have ordered a lot of nail polishes from Leah Ann who runs Llarowe.

Today I want to show you this gorgeous duochrome simply named #730 from Ozotic. I had heard about Ozotic and really wanted to try it out as I love my duochrome polishes. This one shifts from pink to red to orange. It's really vibrant and gorgeous especially in the sun. I used it alone, but of course it can be layered on top of black polish for a different effect.

Formulawise it was a big disappointment, it was weird, it didn't spread as nicely as other polishes, just sort of stayed where I put it. So it ended up really quite streaky. It took 2 or 3 coats, I can't remember now, sorry. Sadly it chipped on me very quickly (within 24 hours) and I had to remove it after just 2 days as it looked rubbish. Shame really because it's very pretty to look at.

I bought mine for $14.50 from Llarowe. I don't actually know how much you get in the bottle, I'm guessing somewhere around 15 ml, it's a decent sized bottle. Weird that it doesn't say on the bottle at all though.
 
All in all, a nice looking polish, but I'm not a big fan of the formula. Maybe other colours in this line will fare better? Have you tried any of them?

NOTD: China Glaze Liquid Crystal

I actually mentioned this nail polish in my nail polish stash and storage video, so I thought I'd show you properly. A gorgeous duochrome glitter polish with lots of different coloured larger (not large though) glitter. Beautiful.

It is actually very similar to Enchanted Polish Once Upon A Time (the polish I wore in the video), but more gritty and it's only a duochrome rather than holo as well (I will do a proper NOTD post on that polish too because it is absolutely gorgeous). It is a light turqouise colour in one light turning more pinky-purple in other. Liquid Crystal was a little bit on the thick side, but applied fine and gave a good coverage (I think I did 2 coats), however due to it being a chunkier glitter it did actually chip pretty fast. I had a few chips within 24 hours and actually ended up taking it off after 2 days as I really didn't look great.

I bought mine on eBay, but you can buy it from BeautyBay for £6.95 and Sally Express sell China Glaze polishes for £6.59, although I can't see this one on their website. You get 14 ml which is a very good amount.

NOTD: Darling Diva Polish in Dangerous Driver

I have recently discovered some indie nail polish brands, one of them is Darling Diva Polish. In this post I want to show you Dangerous Driver, a beautiful purle polish with green duochrome, red sparkles and subtle holo. I'd say it's not as blue purple in real life as it is in the pictures as my camera always turns purples into blues. This reminds me of Max Factor Fantasy Fire but with holo.

I layered this over 2 coats of China Glaze Gothic Lolita, and I think I used 2 coats of Dangerous Driver as well. You can use it on its own too, it's not too sheer. The consistency of this was really nice, not too runny, not thick, just right. The combination lasted on me for about 24 hours without chipping, by the end of day 2 i had some bigger chips. Not the longest lasting, but China Glaze polishes don't seem to last on me very well, so maybe it was China Glaze's fault. I'm not sure, I've never used Gothic Lolita on its own.

I bought my Dangerous Driver from the Darling Diva Polish shop on Etsy, it cost $12 for 15 ml. They ship internationally for quite a reasonable price, $7 per bottle, but for 4 bottles only $10. I have bought another 3 polishes from Darling Diva that yet I need to try and there are a few bottles in the shop I quite fancy, but can't justify right now due to my excessive nail polish stash.

NOTD: Sephora Moody Woman

Another Sephora purchase. I ordered this nail polish together with another two a while back from Sephora.fr and I actually did this NOTD about 3 months ago, so about time I've showed you. Sephora Moody Woman is a gorgeous duochrome nail polish (I love duochrome nail polishes in case you didn't know), it's mostly green that flashes blue at certain angles, very pretty.

The formula of this was really nice and it's very easy to apply thanks to a flat, wide brush. I used 3 coats for this manicure. Unfortunately on me this isn't very long lasting, it started chipping within the first 24 hours. (My record so far is about 60 hours without any chipping.) I still like it a lot and as it was so easy to apply and it's very pretty, I can forgive it.

Also it is very reasonably priced at €4.90 (just under £4) for 5 ml, so can't argue with that. Sephora has 65 different shades of their own brand nail polish and 3 of those are duochrome. As well as Moody Woman there's also a Chanel Peridot dupe/lookalike and a Deborah Lippmann Wicked Game dupe/lookalike, if you like duochromes, definitely worth checking them out as they're fraction of the price of the Chanel and Deborah Lippmann ones.

NOTD: Orly Synchro Nail Polish

I love duochrome nail polish and was really excited about Synchro nail polish from Orly's Electronica collection. It's a very unique shade, looks amazing in the bottle and the duochromeness also transfers onto the nails. It looks pink with blue flashes (the blue especially shows up well with flash), but also it has orangey-red tones to it at certain angles. A little hard to capture it properly, but you get the idea.

The formula was a little runny and it needed 3 coats to achieve the colour you see. It wasn't very easy to apply and as you can see the brushstrokes are very visible on my nails. It also didn't dry very quickly, and it started chipping within the first 24 hours and by 48 hours I had some big chips. I always have to add that practically everything chips on me within 48 hours (I think one or two brands have lasted maybe 60 hours without chipping, but that's the exception). It's a very unique colour though, so if you don't mind a few flaws, you might like this.

You get a whopping 18 ml for £7.50 (BeautyBay) or for quite a bit less on eBay from the US. Not sure if anyone needs that much, but there's also a set of 4 mini polishes available from BeautyBay for £12.95 if you prefer.

NOTD: Topshop Blitz Nail Polish

On a recent trip to Topshop I picked up a couple of nail polishes that I really liked the look of, both of them looking beautifully duochrome in the bottle. One of them is Blitz, a lovely fuchsia pink that promied to have orange/yellow duochrome to it.

Sadly, as you can see, it doesn't. By all means it is a nice nail polish and the colour is pretty, but duochrome it's not. Shame though, because I would've loved the effect on my nails, but maybe it's just how the bottle reflects the light or something. The blue one (Missile) has lovely purple duochrome in the bottle, but once again not on the nails. At certain anglesthe colour seems a bit warmer, bit more orangey, but it's not enough to qualify for being a duochrome.

All in all though Blitz is a nice nail polish, the consistency is just right, it took 2 coats to look opaque and lasted as long as most nail polishes (2 days or so) without chipping. At £6 for 8 ml it's not a bad deal at all. I do wish it was duochrome though...

NOTD: Zoya Adina

I haven't had much time lately to photograph and swatch products, so apologies for yet another nail polish post (these are quick and easy to do), but it is such a pretty one, I would've wanted to show it to you anyway. This is Zoya Adina from the Spring 2010 Reverie Collection.

It's a gorgeous light purple and green duochrome, depending on how you look at it. My pictures don't really do it justice, but if you click on the link above, you can see some wonderful swatches Scrangie did.

I like Zoya polishes very much, they have a lovely consistency, this one took two coats, and they stay on my nails pretty well. I think I took the pictures on day 2 and there were no chips yet. I'm not too sure if this is available anywhere other than eBay, but I got mine from the US for a few pounds only, so if you're interested, it's well worth checking out.
