I have far too much make up!

Okay, I know this probably doesn't come as a surprise if you've been reading my blog for a while, but... I've spent the last few days sorting out my make up stash and storage (still working on it, video to come soon) and it suddenly hit me: I have way too much make up. So while I'm not going on a spending ban as such, I will try to only buy what I really want/need, rather than everything and anything because they're pretty or because they were really cheap on eBay. So as a result, the contents of this blog will change slightly: there will be less new product reviews and more shopping my stash posts. To be honest, I actually started writing this blog partly so I can show off my collection since I don't know anyone in real life who appreciates make up as much as I do, so I guess I'll just go back to that idea a bit more.

But fear not, I still have some great product reviews lined up, like the new Laura Mercier baked eyeshadows and no doubt I will continue to buy make up because I love it and I always get sucked into the limited edition craze. However, I do hope you will enjoy seeing pictures and reading about my large stash, I have a review of Laura Geller blushes lined up too as well as my stash/storage video. By the way, is it just the OCD in me, or is organising your make up almost as much fun as buying and using it? No? It's just me then.

  2. I'd love to see posts about products you already have plus collection photos of course. The more detailed the better :)
I'm pretty much in the same situation as you, having WAY too much make up so I really enjoy "shopping my stash" posts!
I agree about the makeup organizing being fun (also, reading about how others organize their collections) unless you've reached the point that you have absolutely no more room left(like me, even though I always manage to accumulate some more)

  3. I am at that point actually, or even beyond it now, I really don't have anywhere left to put my make up. I think my husband is right, our bedroom is absolutely full off my stuff. That's why I'm trying to get it more organised, so I can get at the things I use most.

  4. A few months ago I got this drawer unit from Ikea:
    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50192822
which is awesome for makeup lovers like us and had hours of organizing fun (when you need a unit of drawers for your makeup, it's a sign that you have too much, right?)The good thing about it is that everything is neat and tidy and I can see everything that I have. Needless to say, it's full and I also have 3 or 4 mini drawers on my desk and a shelf for my palettes.
Sometime in the next month we will be moving to a new house and I don't even want to think about how I'm going to pack all that...

  5. Very true. My biggest problem is that I have nowhere to put extra storage units now, so I have to work with what I have. :( I guess it's better this way, otherwise I would fill those up as well, and then need more units. Only downside is I currently have several boxes in different places as well as make up bags containing my make up, which is really not ideal, but they fit under and inside cupboards/chests of drawers.

Yeah I tried to ban myself from buying stuff about 3 times now. Didn't work so well!
Looking forward to all those upcoming reviews!
