A bit of me time

This post isn't strictly about cosmetics, although as it is about me, you can be sure I will squeeze them in here too, but I thought I'd share with you my perfect "me" day. As a busy mum of 3 young children (9, nearly 6 and 4 years old), I don't have a lot of time for myself. Although I am a stay at home mum, I am always busy with either housework, food shopping, cooking and/or looking after my children. And as it is the summer holidays, I'm currently with my children all day every day. So I was really feeling the need to have some me time and finally I got it, on Saturday. My husband took the children to the swimming pool at 10.00 am, so I had to make sure I got up early enough to get the children ready and give him a chance to get ready, which was going to be 8.30 am, but somehow turned into 9.00 am. Nice. :) Once they'd left, I had a leisurely shower, including shaving my legs and other body parts (you really don't need to know the details). It's lovely to be able to have a shower without having to listen out for whether anyone is crying, especially as i have a very whingy 4-year-old and a rather agressive nearly-6-year-old, so chances are if I leave them alone, my nearly-6-year-old will be beating the crap out of my 4-year-old. :D After my shower I applied some body lotion which I almost never get around to doing, got dressed and took time deciding what make up to do and applied it in peace. Ah! I even had time to pick up my accessories and when I was eventually ready, I went off to do a spot of shopping. Since I left my husband with the ingredients for chilli con carne (he's a good cook), I didn't have to hurry home to cook supper, so I had a good 6 hours to browse the shops and have a leisurely lunch. I really wanted to check out the rest of the dazzle lipsticks (by Mac) and have a good look around Boots, Superdrug and Debenhams, although I didn't have any specific items that I really wanted to get. I did end up buying 6 more dazzle lipsticks (review to follow soon) and the new YSL Face Powder Peche №1 L’Eclat (which I swore I wouldn't buy, but it looks way prettier in real life, it's all sparkly and not just with an overspray on top - also I had £15 on my Debenhams Beauty Club card that I *HAD* to spend). I had a lovely time looking around in shops and having a leisurely latte with very yummy muffin for lunch. I also bought some gorgeous jewellery from my favourite shop called Essential, they sell inexpensive and very colourful and fun necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings, I always pop in one of their shops and usually buy quite a few pieces. This is pretty much how my ideal "me" day looks like, except I'd also like to be able to come home and take my goodies up to my bedroom in peace to admire and put away in appropriate places. Well that didn't happen on Saturday, not for 3 hours after arriving home anyway, but you can't have everything. :) My life would be too boring without my lovely 3 children, even if they do drive me up the wall sometimes. What does your ideal "me" day looks like? Have you had one lately?

  1. I'd love to have an ideal day where I can spend time with my family, my cats, go out shopping for shoes and makeup (my two addictions!) and squeeze in a lunch with a friend or a date with the BF. Unfortunately since I live away from home and away from everyone I love, those days will have to wait till the holidays :(

I hope you have more "you" days to enjoy!

Also, I think companies SHOULD start sending you samples because I've certainly bought products I never imagined I'd buy based on your reviews!
