Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick 26 Gardner Swatches And Review

As promied here's my review of the new limited editon (although I'm not entire sure if it is, please correct me if it's not) Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in 26 Gardner from the Guerlain holiday 2011 collection. I have to admit, at first I wasn't too interested in this lipstick (well, at first I didn't even know this was part of the holiday collection actually). I prefer my blue based reds and this is more of a brown-red/brick red shade, but it has really suprised me because it actually looks really nice on me.

It has the usual great Rouge G formula, it's really creamy, pigmented and long-lasting, and of course comes in the wonderful Rouge G case. I have reviewed many of these lipsticks, so I won't bang on about this, just show you some swatches and let you make up your mind. In the swatches below I only swiped it once on my arm, so you can see how pigmented it is. Although it didn't last through lunch, but without eating and drinking it lasted for a good 4 hours on me.

I do need to mention the price though as sadly it is very high at £28.50 (ouch!), but you really do get a very luxurious product for your money. Also with a long-lasting lipstick like this, you don't need to touch up too often, so shouldn't be afraid of using up your lipstick too quickly. But still, £28.50 is a lot of money for one lipstick, so that's definitely a negative. But it is the only one I can think of, and I still love Rouge G lipsticks very much.

Guest Post: Vitamins That Are Good For Your Nails, Hair And Skin

I hate taking vitamins because they upset my stomach. Before I tell you anything else I just want you to know that because there are so many people out there who are just like me for one reason or another. But the truth of the matter is that our bodies need vitamins in order to look and feel their best and we don’t get enough of them from the foods that we eat. So regardless of whether or not I like taking them I do just so that I can reap the benefits. Here are some reasons that you should bite the bullet and take them if you want healthy nails, skin and hair.
Vitamin A

Vitamin A helps with many of the skin problems that women have and can be found in vitamins and in topical creams under the name of Retinoid.
  • It works an anti-aging agent by preventing unsightly brown spots and wrinkles.
  • If your skin gets hurt or cut it helps to repair it by amping up your skin cell growth.

Vitamin B Complex

Taking vitamin B complex is like taking a dose of every form of vitamin B (and there are many), biotin and some folic acid all at once. And so you get all of the benefits quickly and easily.

  • Helps to prevent skin cancer.
  • If fights the free radicals that our bodies face every day and helps prevent wrinkles.
  • Gives the skin a healthy glow.
  • Promotes cell reproduction.
  • Helps the body to fight infections so when you get a nail fungus this a dose of B complex will do you a world of good.
  • Makes your hair and nails stronger so that they won’t break as easily.
  • Helps to prevent hair loss.

Vitamin C

When we think of vitamin C we usually think of fighting colds, but there’s more to it.
  • Great for repairing sun damaged skin.
  • Improves the tone and texture of your skin.
  • Makes the skin firmer so that you get wrinkles and sagging at an older age.
  • Packed with antioxidants that build collagen which is good for your skin, hair and nails.
  • A great protector against free radicals that cause premature aging and hair loss.

Vitamin D

We don’t get enough of vitamin D from the sun or from our diets so taking the vitamins is highly recommended.
  • Helps the body absorb calcium which is needed to maintain healthy hair and nail growth.
Although there is one reason to take it that is related to beauty there are many other reasons that are highly important so don’t discard it.

Vitamin E

We see vitamin E promoted on many different kinds of cosmetics ranging from moisturizers to body washes and for good reason too.

  • Prevents skin cancer.
  • Helps to repair even the driest and most problematic skin disorders.
  • Makes the skin smooth.
  • Helps to soothe sun damaged skin.
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Contains antioxidants that help it fight free radicals.
  • Promotes hair growth and prevents hair loss.
  • It makes hair softer.
  • It helps you grow stronger, longer nails.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K may be the least popular of the group but it’s by no means less important.
  • It helps to reduce the appearance of bruises on the skin.
  • It helps to reduce dark under eye circles.
  • Fight free radicals.

So regardless of whether or not I like taking them I do just so that I can reap the benefits. You should too.

Urban Decay Stardust Sparkling Lipgloss in Glitter Rock - Review and Swatches

Urban Decay has a new type of lipgloss out called Stardust and they're glittery, just like the eyeshadows of the same name. The glosses come in 3 shades, and today I have Glitter Rock to show you. It is basically a nice medium blue-pink colour with lots of sparkles. To me this is the prettiest of the 3, I have swatched the other two and this was also the one that gave the most colour.

Although glittery, this gloss is not at all gritty as the glitter is actually very fine, so the gloss is nice and smooth. It is non-sticky and has a minty scent which is so much better than the yucky burnt sugar smell the Pocket Rocket glosses had. I actually threw mine out because I just couldn't stand the smell (plus it wasn't that special, but anyway). It comes with a brush applicator which I really like, it distributes a good amount of gloss on your lips. The colour is quite sheer, but definitely noticable. Not the longest lasting ever, but lasts for a good couple of hours or so, and it's so pretty. The gloss retails for £14 and for that you get 5.5 ml.

All in all, if you like glittery lipglosses, then I would definitely recommend this one. I don't actually know if they are limited edition or not, sorry. Available from House of Fraser and BeautyBay.com.
